ARTWORK HINTS

Artwork File Type

Please e-mail only high-resolution JPG (JPEG); RGB only (not CMYK), or Adobe Photoshop PSD. If your artwork is in some format other than JPG or PSD, then please convert your artwork using a graphics program. Adobe Photoshop is an example of a graphics program that can be used to convert your artwork into JPG format. While saving your JPG file(s), always choose the highest-quality setting. Other image formats such a GIF can be used but may yield lower quality results. We may also be able to handle formats such as TIFF, Adobe Acrobat PDF or Microsoft Publisher PUB files but those may require extra post processing.

Artwork Size (resolution)

Regardless of the bottle size you will be choosing, or number of “spaces” that your artwork occupies using this template, the safe MINIMUM size for your uploaded artwork should be either 642 pixels tall OR 1,574 pixels wide. You may upload artwork larger than this, but anything smaller will look pixilated, “jaggy” and/or blurry.

For best results images should overall be 300 dpi or greater if possible, also when saving JPG files always save at the highest quality level; otherwise the images on your labels may not appear as clear as possible, in fact they be blurry or pixilated.

Remember that ONLY ONE of these dimensions, width OR height, is necessary, but not both. For example, if your artwork is 300 pixels tall x 1,900 pixels, then that’s fine because even though the 300-pixel dimension is smaller than the 642-pixel specification, the 1,900-pixel is larger then the 1,574-pixel specification - so that is fine!

The same works the other way. An 800 x 1,200 image would work fine as well because even though the 1,200-pixel dimension falls short of the 1,574-pixel specification, the 800-pixel dimension more than covers the needed resolution for the 642-pixel specification. When emailing the artwork there is a software limit of 4 Megabytes for any single uploaded file. We may be able to merge two files if necessary or other arrangements can me made to handle very large files.

Artwork Background Colors

If you have the ability to do so, you might want to alter your artwork so that its back ground color exactly matches the background of this template. All popular graphics software applications support the HEX and/or RGB color models.

Vector Graphics Programs

If you are working in a "vector" graphics software application, such as Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Freehand, or Corel Draw, simply select (or create) your background and assign the HEX or RGB color that is listed in the Color Specifications box.

Raster Graphics Programs

If you are working in a "raster" graphics software application, such as Adobe Photoshop or a similar program, and your background color is in a separate layer, then simply select all in that layer and apply the HEX or RGB color that is listed in the Color Specifications box.

If your background color IS NOT on a separate layer, then just upload your graphic as is. Then just send us the high-res file again through email -- and we will fix the file (and label) for you.

Tips

Remember that your with your your design, the finished label will go on a curved surface. Because of this you may only be able to see almost four inches of the label at any time on a 16.9oz bottle. You may want consider the placement of your text and images in your label's design; Place the most important part of your image or message the middle of the label so it is most visible and easiest to read.

The final quality of your label depends on the quality of the artwork you provide. A GIF file limits you to 256 colors while a JPG file allows for millions of colors; however, a JPG can be saved with different compression levels, those higher compressions levels will make a smaller file but also cause a lost of quality. Always save JPG files at the highest quality setting possible.
